Jiangbei Plan Urban planning+

Chongqing, is the greatest populated city of the People’s Republic of China’s four provincial- level municipalities along with Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin and the world’s largest metropolitan region.

The site and its surroundings have a very strong impression on topography, not only because of the hilly mountain or river but also because of the quantity of buildings.

DESIGN CONCEPT
The design concept of this project takes inspiration from the existing site, which reflects the profile of the hillside and the images of the old Chongqing City. The residential blocks are arranged in ascending order from the riverbank to the hillside according to the existing natural skyline. The low-rise residential blocks are set along the riverbank, while  the high-rise residential towers abut the highland, not only maintainingthe undulating rhythm of the natural surrounding.

HOUSING STYLE
The architectural style on site is from a mixture of different time period.
Some are bamboo mix with mud, some are concrete, some just an addition to the top of the original building. But the main style in this site is as shown above; the building is wood structure with bricks. This type of wood structure has an advantage of regulating internal room temperature.
Chongqing’s temperature tends to be high in summer; therefore wood materials could be one of the best choice and solution for this site.
